Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2024

Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is Slow Food’s flagship international festival, held every other year in Turin, Italy. This event combines the best of a food conference with a vast marketplace, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities, music, and a showcase of flavors from around the globe. Slow Food’s roots trace back over thirty years to a protest in Rome, where a fast food franchise was set to open near the iconic Spanish Steps. Instead of raising voices in anger, a group of Italians gathered with a big bowl of penne pasta, chanting, “We don’t want fast food. We want Slow Food!” This event sparked the birth of the Slow Food movement, an international commitment to preserving local food traditions and sustainable practices.
